The Barley Corn Hotel is Melbourne’s premier acoustic and live band venue. Together with Hip-Hop MC's & DJ’s it is certainly one of Melbourne’s most diverse music venues. We also have a function room which is ideal for any type of special event including birthday/Christmas parties, going away parties and hens/bucks nights.
We have a terrific mix of both original and cover or tribute bands to entertain you as well as quality acoustic acts. Pete Murray performed three shows with us in 2002, he performed songs that 6 months later became chart topping hits in this country. We are happy to support original music and are known for giving many bands/artists their start in the live music scene.
Bands can also have their gigs recorded and burnt onto a CD at a minimal cost of $25.00. Many bands have utilised this service to then turn the CD into a demo disc or upload the recordings on to their myspace site.
Our backpacker accommodation is Melbourne's most affordable. Shared dorm style and double rooms are available from only $70.00 per person per week. There is a a maximum of 4 persons housed in the dorm rooms, ideal for sporting groups or travelling friends. Facilities include a shared kitchen/dining room and two shared bathrooms. We are only three kilometres from Melbourne's central business district.
